Job Description:
Software Test Engineer I
Job Summary:
The Program Associate Executive would primarily be responsible for representing the Software Quality Assurance Department on software development projects for SNL's products by implementing software quality assurance. The Software Test Engineer will plan and execute software testing activities and will enforce approved product development processes though collaboration with project stakeholders and escalation through approved escalation channels.
What does this exactly mean?
  • Contribute to the Product Testing effort on assigned Scrum Team(s), which may (at times) include leading STEs on a small team, locally or offshore.
  • Represent SQA in Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, and Retrospective Meetings where applicable.
  • Deliver on assigned Scrum Team Backlog tasks which may include Test Case Development, Execution, and management of Bugs (tracking and closure) where applicable.
  • Contribute to the collaborative team environment and overall success of assigned Scrum Teams.
  • Escalate Risk and Obstacles to testing through appropriate channels.
  • Champion the application of, and adherence to, the Definition of Done (DOD).
  • Contribute to the deployment activities for emergency product patches and scheduled product releases.
  • Complete short-term assignments and tasks as required.
