UNHCR - The UN Refugee Agency is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to deliver a programme of work, which is to plan and deliver a relocation of its London Branch Office and Private Sector Fundraising Division to a new location in London.
UNHCR requires an experienced, hands-on project manager to deliver the following:
-Planning of modifications of office spaces
-Planning of moves in IT-infrastructure, networks, telecommunications, LAN/WAN, Telephony and Audio Visual/Video Conferencing
-Room allocation plans and the associated responsibilities
-Working closely with a team of architects
-Manage interior fit-out
-Monitor and report progress to stakeholders
-Preparing/defining specifications for tenders and contracts within the UNHCR financial processes and policies and analyse tender returns
-Sourcing, negotiating and choosing suppliers which may include agents, legal and market expertise
Prior knowledge and practical, hands-on experience of delivering the above is absolutely essential. Experience of negotiating and selecting suppliers is also important, as the project manager will have a large amount of responsibility in this area.
Other key things that the successful candidate should possess:
-Relevant PM accreditation (e.g. PMP, PRINCE 2 Practioner)
-A sound project management background gained within an international organisation managing projects through the entire project life cycle
-Core competence in Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Performance Management, Quality & Delivery Assurance
-Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines and geographies
-Experience working with selected vendors to develop and implement project plans
-Knowledge and experience in commercial real estate in the London marketplace
Experience delivering these types of projects in the diplomatic community or United Nations system is also beneficial.
This is a 6-month contract with extensions beyond this.
